CABAZON, CA — The iconic Cabazon Dinosaurs, a beloved roadside attraction off Interstate 10, continue to capture the imaginations of visitors from around the world. Originally conceived by sculptor Claude K. Bell, these massive concrete beasts were designed to attract customers to his Wheel Inn Restaurant. Construction began in 1964, with the first dinosaur, Dinny the Dinosaur, completed in 1975, followed by Mr. Rex in 1986.

Over the years, the dinosaurs have become a popular pit stop for travelers, with thousands visiting annually. Peak times include the summer months and holiday weekends, when families make the trek to marvel at these prehistoric giants. In the early 2000s, the property changed hands and was transformed into a dinosaur-themed park with a gift shop and museum inside Dinny.
